Hi friends! šš» Itās nearly the halfway point in the year, but I have seen this post on both Caro and Destiny‘s blogs and had to do it myself! Iām usually really bad at keeping track of stats so my answers are probably from gut feelings instead of facts š

1. how many books have you read so far?
I have read 11 books so far this year and that doesnāt bother me at all. A couple of years ago, I decided to set my Goodreads Challenge goal to just 1 book so that I could keep track of how many books Iād read without any pressure and itās one of the best decisions Iāve ever made in terms of reading.
2. have you already found a book you think might be a 2022 favourite?

3. if not, what was your favourite book you read that wasnāt quite five stars?
I havenāt actually given any books five stars yet, but Final Girls by Riley Sager came very close to being five stars for me.
4. any 1-star books / least favourite book of the year?

Thankfully, I havenāt rated anything one star either, but the lowest rating Iāve given was 2.5 stars for The Whistling by Rebecca Netley. This one was just a little too slow for my tastes. There was a lot of sitting around or walking around places for me, and I should be used to reading those kinds of stories.
5. most read genre so far?
My horror mood has become an eternal thing because thatās still what Iām mostly interested in these days!
6. a book that surprised you?

I was surprised that I picked up Chasing the Boogeyman by Richard Chizmar. This is a completely fictional story but itās presented as if itās a real true crime NF book, and I have no interest in true crime at all* but the metafiction aspects did interest me since the author himself is the main character of the story.
*i actually hate true crime and what itās become in recent years but thatās a different discussion.
7. a book thatās come out in 2022 already that you want to read but havenāt yet?
Ugh, so many š Iām primarily a backlist reader so I tend to not know whatās coming out and when, but I have been wanting to read Gallant by V.E. Schwab and I own a copy, but I havenāt gotten around to it yet. It may be a while before I pick it up, however.

8. one goal you made that youāre succeeding at?
A goal that I made was to use the library more often and this has been the easiest reading goal Iāve ever set because I work in a library! I donāt get fines, I can take out as many books as I want, and I can renew them whenever I want as long as there are no reservations on them. Whatās not to love?
9. one goal you made you need to focus on?
I still want to be more active in the blogging community but juggling being a working girl with my hobbies turned out to be a lot harder than I expected. I should have figured it out by now but I am really bad at making new routines, I tend to just get thrown headfirst into them instead.
10. new to you bloggers/booktubers/bookstagrammers/booktokers for 2022 you recommend?
Iāve come across a lot of new-to-me bloggers because in March I tweeted out asking people to share their links and got a lot more replies than I was expecting!
If youād like to see them all and find some new blogs to follow, you can check out the thread by clicking on this link.

talk to me!
Let me know if you do this tag! I want to see your answers!

I loved seeing your answers for this Tag! š Iām actually currently reading Gallant, I finally got my own copy and Iām really enjoying it š„° I hope you enjoy it, when you read it!
Iāve heard so many things about Chasing the Bogeyman, excited to read your thoughts on it! (And I also agree on hating what true crime has become in recent years…itās all so odd to me.) Itās so cool that you work at a library! Most of the books I read are from my local library. Saves me tons of money!
I have Final Girls on my TBR-this-year pile; so glad to hear that it is good.
What a fun read!
