Fall Time, Cozy Time Tag! (it’s not autumn yet, but oh how i want it to be)

Hi friends! 👋🏻 While I personally do not consider it to be autumn yet because I judge seasons by solstices and equinoxes, I’m treating life like it is autumn and not still summer (it was 22°C when I was writing this post and it made me all grumpy).

To get me really into the autumn mood before the 22nd of this month, I’ve decided to do the Fall Time, Cozy Time Tag! I was indirectly tagged by Caro @ Bookcheshirecat whose post you can read here!

This tag was originally created by Sam’s Nonsense!

Crunching Leaves – choose a book that has reds/oranges/yellows on the cover

Aurora Burning by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff

This cover says “fire” more than it says “autumn”, but it’s gorgeous and it’s my current read so how could I not include this book?

Cosy Sweater – What book gives you the warm fuzzies?

Lois Lane: Triple Threat by Gwenda Bond

Everything I can say about this book is a massive spoiler so just take my word when I say that there are so many moments in this book that make me feel all warm inside 🥰

Fall Storm – Choose a genre you like to read on a stormy day

The weather doesn’t really affect what genre I want to read, but I definitely love the idea of reading a scary horror novel when it’s dark and stormy outside. The sound of rain is usually calming, but when it’s extremely windy and you’re reading a scary book, it’s not that relaxing anymore.

Cool Crisp Air – Who’s the coolest character you’d want to trade places with?

A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

I haven’t read past the first book in this series, but who wouldn’t want to be Kell? Being able to use magic and travel between worlds just sounds like the coolest thing ever.

Hot Apple Cider: What under hyped book do you want to see become the next biggest, hottest thing?

Certain Dark Things by Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Seeing how excited people were for Moreno-Garcia’s Mexican Gothic this year has really made me hope that people pick up Certain Dark Things. If you don’t like vampires, or you got bored of vampires because you thought they were “all the same” (which you’re wrong but you do you), you should pick up Certain Dark Things because it will change your mind on how vampires can be written and how diverse they can and should be.

Coat, Scarves, and Mittens – What’s the most embarrassing book cover you own that you like to keep hidden in public?

Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout

I absolutely adored the Lux series back in the day, but they don’t have the best covers I’ve ever seen. I’m not sure if JLA is primarily an adult writer, but these books tend to have similar designs as her adult romance books and that makes them a little spicy to read on public transport where some people will go into all sorts of angles to see what you’re reading 😬

Pumpkin Spice: What’s your favourite fall time comforts food/foods?

I don’t like the terms “basic bitch” or “basic white girl”, but I do love a good PSL from Starbucks in the autumn time. They’re not out in stores yet in the UK but I can’t wait for them because I haven’t had one since I was in California in October last year. I even had it iced there for the first time, and I don’t know if I would have it iced at home because it doesn’t get to 34°C in the North of England during October. If it did it, we would be in some serious danger.

Warm, Cozy Bonfire: Spread the cosy warmth – Who do you tag?

I don’t have friends so I’m tagging everyone who wants to do this! Unless you live in the Southern Hemisphere where it’s almost spring so you might not want to do it. But don’t worry, I still love you too 😘

So happy to see you do the Tag!! 🥰🍂 I have to agree that the Lux Series has such cringey covers, still sad that they never got a good redesign! I cannot wait to finally have my first PSL soon 🎃
