Hi friends 👋🏻 I am not ashamed to admit that I can be shallow and will definitely pick up a book because I think the cover is pretty. It can be a gamble because there is always the chance that the insides don’t match the outsides, but that is a risk that I’m willing to take. I need to have the pretties, I just do. I definitely go through different phases and what I like on book covers does change a lot, but as long as a cover is aesthetically pleasing to me, it’s all good. My Best Friend’s Exorcism by Grady Hendrix – I’m not the biggest fan of things about exorcisms or demons because they can come off as overwhelmingly Catholic, but I am a huge sucker for covers being made to look like old rental VHS boxes. Happy November, friends! Sci-Fi Month officially started on Sunday but I took a couple of days to blog hop since I don’t post on Sundays or Mondays so today I am here to share my TBR for this month! Instead of buying new books, I decided to focus more on reading books that I already own since I am still planning to purge my bookshelves at some point. Also, my order of Supernova hasn’t arrived yet so I’ll save it for later. The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells I am a firm believer that a nice special physical copy can make the driest of classics more fun to read. Am I saying that The War of the Worlds is dry? Maybe I am, but I wouldn’t know whether it is or not because I haven’t read it yet. The most experience I have of it is the Jeff Wayne musical version that my dad would play in the car all the time, but the most I remember is that one song where the woman sings “no, Nathaniel” constantly.
