Books, Lists, Movies, Sci-Fi Month

Hi crew! šŸ‘‹šŸ» If you couldn’t tell, my two favourite genres are sci-fi and horror, so when the two are combined, I’m always going to be interested. Picking a list of my favourites was oddly easy for movies, but a lot harder for books. It seems that I need to seek out sci-fi horror books more often to see what books are out there. Personally, I think that sci-fi and horror make for a good combination because what’s scarier that what we don’t know? And science is all about finding out things we don’t know, whether that’s out in space or here on Earth. Sometimes Earth is scarier… alienĀ (1979) The general consensus among sci-fi fans is thatĀ AliensĀ is the best movie in this series, but I completely disagree with that. I much prefer the atmosphere and the characters inĀ Alien and the ‘haunted house but in space’ theme has always appealed to me more than the action-orientedĀ Aliens. Movies, Spooky Month

Hi ghouls! šŸ‘‹šŸ» A long time ago, on my old blog, I made a post where I listed ten horror movies I would never, ever watch and it popped into my head recently so I wanted to revisit it. At least that was my plan until my terrible memory reared its head and I remembered that not only is the post lost in cyberspace forever, I also deleted the graphics I made for it from my Google Photos. Oops. However, I did remember a few of them and I wanted to talk about why I said I would never watch them, whether I liked them, and if I’d watch them again. There are still a lot of horror movies that I will likely never watch but I can handle gore a lot more than I could when I was a teenager and the movies that I blacklist now are weirdly pornographic in nature (or just straight-up horror pornography that is probably illegal outside of their countries of origin). There is nothing wrong with saying that you’d never watch a movie or read a book because it’s too much for you to handle. It’s important to know what your boundaries are […]
